Slurpees and Video Games? Why not.

Here's an interesting one; the 7-11 convenience store chain is planning on adding video games to their inventory as well as other budget entertainment. Not just DVDs but DVD players and the such.

Dattebayo Says No Naruto Next Year

The very well known fan/sub group Dattebayo (where 99% of you get your new Naruto episodes) has announced that beggining January 15th of 2009 they will stop subtitling and distributing Naruto: Shippuuden.

The chosen date leads us into the reasons for the group's decisions. 1.15.09 is when Naruto.Com,Hulu, Joost, and Crunchyroll will officially and in conjunction with Viz Media (North American Naruto License holder) will stream Naruto episodes just 1 week after their Japanese premiere.

Dattebayo has said they will move on to other projects and it is really great to see big American anime companies like Viz try something well... new to them.

More Manga to Anime to Film Projects

More Manga to Anime to Film Projects

As we said it before, for the last few years we’ve seen a landslide of Comic to Film projects come before us, with no end in sight, but no complaints here, we love Comic Book Movies. We are just NOW in the beginning of a tidal wave of Manga/Anime to big budget Film projects. Quick Summary.

*Live action Dragon Ball film has wrapped principal Photography, due out April 09'.

*Neon Genesis Evangelion is still rumored, Robert Zemeckis (Roger Rabit, Back to the Future) was initially attached.

*Voltron, yup also in the backburner somewhere.

*Spielberg has secured rights to produce a live action Ghost in the Shell.

*Tobey Migure to star and produce live action Robotech/Macross.

*Leonardo DiCaprio to produce live action adaptation of Akira.

*Appian Way, DiCarpio’s production company, along with Warner Bros. are set to co-produce a Live Action version of Ninja Scroll

What do you guys think? Do you know of any other similar projects? Something we missed? Please feel free to comment. Drop us a line at info@animeraro.com

New Rhodey for Iron Man

So most fans of the Iron Man movie already know that Terrance Howard who originally played Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes in the first film has been replaced by Don Chaedle. But until now no one really had any idea why.

According to EW it’s actually a string of reasons. Howard was apparently the first actor to sign on to the film and ended up getting paid more than even the starring role of Downy Jr. Howard was also allegedly “difficult” on the set. This leading to issues with his scenes having to be reedited or re-shot and just taking too much time. Director Favreau and Producers were said to have been displeased with Howard’s overall performance.

Because of all the aforementioned as Iron Man makers began planning the sequel they had decided to minimize Howard’s involvement and consequently his characters storyline. As Marvel Entertainment caught wind of this they decided to renegotiate Howard’s #’s ($$$) and talks needless to say fell apart.

We at animeraro.com thought Terrence Howard did a fine job on the film so it’s hard to believe what is being said but that’s Hollywood for you. As always please feel free to leave a comment or drop us a line @ info@animeraro.com

Frank and Son Collectible Show

One of the coolest places in the world, it’s like mini nerd & geek central (we mean that in the nicest of ways) every Wednesday and Saturday. Check out their site at http://www.fs-collectibles.com/

If you’re in the Southern California area then take the opportunity to visit the Frank and Son Collectibles Show. Every Wednesday from 3pm to 9pm and every Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Here you will find everything from Comics, Toys, to Sports Memorabilia. Are you looking for a Kobe autographed whatever (Jersey, Basketball, etc..) you will find it here. An unending list of rare and unique items; all kinds of comics, new and old, Toys, imports & domestic, Neca, McFarlane, Marvel Legends, Simpsons, Wrestling, anything and everything Star Wars, Kubriks, Disney, Hot Wheels including Treasure Hunts, Beanies, Sports Cards, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, Magic, millions of pins, T-Shirts, Hats, Movie Posters and much much more (a lot more, too much to list).

There are also lots of special events including Card Tournaments and special guests. Guest of the past include Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame, David Faustino from Married with Children, wrestler RVD, Gary Coleman, and even the living legend STAN LEE. Coming up wrestling greats Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, and early next year TNA knockout Christy Hemme.

I was walking around checking out the other booths when who happens to pass by me Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers). He’s a well known Star Wars Collector. This is the place to find what you are looking for without having to wait for the once a year conventions.

It's been around for years, even before animeraro.com existed and we are very happy to have our very own booth there, visit us in isle #700 @ Booth #716.

Long Time No Update

For those who've shopped our website and checked out our blog I have to apologize for not updating with new articles. We are minimally staffed and simply neglected the blog so that we could focus better on our new products and a new venture that we'll tell you about after this post. Once again we at animeraro apologize but promise you that, from this point on, our blog will be filled with a flurry of manga/anime, video game, and movie related news tidbits. As well as behind the scenes, funny customer stories and the whatnot.
